Think outside the box

Ceremonies to mark the loss of a loved one are as old as humankind. A rite of passage. A necessity. Families will always want funerals, memorial services, heartfelt tributes to the people they love. No algorithm, no A1 programme can ever replace the value of the human contact you will make with a bereaved family...understanding their needs and producing a bespoke service, unique to them.

It’s because you’re ‘only human’ that you will be entering one of the rapidly diminishing areas of work that cannot be properly carried out by anything other than a real person.

There is NO compulsory – or even recognised - qualification necessary to become a funeral celebrant.

I repeat, because you probably won’t believe it. There is NO national exam you have to pass. NO regulations. There should be, but there aren’t. So all the impressive sounding stuff you’re reading about ‘Level this’ and ‘Level that’...forget it. It’s an attempt to blind you with science. And when you’re out there, trying to earn a living, it means absolutely nothing.

If you know what you’re doing, have been thoroughly trained and have the right personal qualities, that’s what counts. And it starts with good training, rooted in integrity and experience.

I believe in the power of a good funeral celebrant to make a real difference. A celebrant who is kind, capable and professional can be critical at a time of grief and loss. And so. I set out to train people to the very highest standards, as I myself was trained. And at the end of my three day course, you won’t just know what you’re doing, you’ll have the confidence to get out there and turn theory into practice.

And for your benefit, you will receive a certificate proving that you’ve made the grade with Last Word Training. It will be good to have, to prove to yourself that you’ve got what it takes. If you think you have, I’ll teach you how to succeed.
